The Largest U.S. Health Insurer Pulls Out of Health Exchanges in Arkansas
On the 11th of April UnitedHealth Group Inc made the statement that they will not be participating in the Affordable Care Act markets in 2017. ] This latest challenge to President Obama’s health-care plan is in response to the fact that many top insurers have struggled to make a profit in the new A.C.A. (Affordable Care Act) markets. This causes great concern to us as Arkansas residents, but it also is troubling as we wait to see what other major insurers will do.
This is not meant to cause a panic, because although UnitedHealth Group Inc is the largest health insurer, they hold a relatively small amount of the market share in regard to Obamacare.
